Safety Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills is in critical condition after going down during their match against the Cincinnati Bengals last Monday night, prompting the game to be postponed.
Hamlin, 24, was just recovering after being tackled by Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins at 5:58 of the first quarter. But after he stood up, he fell on his back again, concerning those on the Bills bench.
Apparently, a right shoulder from Higgins hit Hamlin’s chest in an attempt to break the play.
The Bills star safety was administered CPR and was brought to the hospital 16 minutes after collapsing. He was driven to the nearby University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
According to a statement released by the NFL, Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest midgame and is critical.
“Hamlin received immediate medical attention on the field by [the] team, independent medical staff, and local paramedics. He was then transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.”
The NFL added, “Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills. We will provide more information as it becomes available. The NFL has been in constant communication with the NFL Players Association, which is in agreement with postponing the game.”
There has been no update regarding the player’s condition.
The match was also postponed as the league has yet to announce the game’s resumption, which OKBET players respected.
Meanwhile, teammates like star quarterback Josh Allen asked everyone to pray for Hamlin’s speedy recovery.
“Please pray for our brother,” he wrote on Twitter.
Please pray for our brother.

Hamlin’s Career
Hamlin is a Pennsylvania native and joined the Bills in 2021. He was the No. 212 overall pick from the University of Pittsburgh.
This season, he replaced Micah Hyde, who suffered a neck injury in Week 2. This opportunity, however, turned in his favor. Hamlin, last Monday, was tied for the second-most tackles by a Bills player at 91.
The player also has one forced fumble and averaged 1.5 sacks this season. He also had 13 starts.
He is a Giver
Hamlin has a foundation, Chasing M’s. Its goal is to raise money for a toy drive. A toy drive is a charity event to collect Christmas gifts for poor children.
His initial goal was $2,500, but with his injury, donations poured in, reaching more than $2.1 million.
