Alison Riske was the first player at Wimbledon to make it to the second round.
The 28th-ranked American player beat the Swiss player Ylena In-Albon 6-2, 6-4 on Court 10.
Soon after, third-seeded Ons Jabeur beat Swedish qualifier Mirjaa Bjorklund 6-1, 6-3 to move on to the next round.
Last year, Jabeur made it to the quarterfinals at the All England Club. Before this year’s tournament, he won a grass-court title in Berlin.

Novak Djokovic, who won the title last year, will play the first match on Centre Court on the first day of game Wimbledon.
The six-time winner, who has captured the three men’s singles championships at the All England Club, will take against Kwon Soon-woo, rated 81st, in the opening round.
